A nightclub and concert venue at 125 East 11th Street in the East Village, Manhattan, and one of New York's most historically significant event halls — built in 1886 as a hall for hire and recognised as the first modern nightclub. The current incarnation opened in 1992 with a capacity of 1,400. The city's Landmarks Preservation Commission designated the building on 18 March 2008. Castle Rat are an American doom metal band formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 2019, known for a theatrical 'medieval fantasy doom' concept led by vocalist Riley Pinkerton, 'the Rat Queen'.
