The Agora Theatre and Ballroom is a historic music venue on Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, opened by Hank LoConti in 1966 as a club for young live-music audiences. Now a mid-sized concert hall, it remains one of the city's longest-running rock venues. Bikini Kill formed in Olympia, Washington in October 1990 — Kathleen Hanna singing and writing, Billy Karren on guitar, Kathi Wilcox on bass and Tobi Vail on drums — and pioneered the riot grrrl movement with feminist lyrics and fiery, abrasive, hardcore-influenced performances.
