The Academy is a four-floor music venue in Dublin. Its Main Room holds 650 standing with space for another 200 on the upper balcony; the ground-floor Green Room takes 550 and has a low ceiling, and is used for electronic acts and DJs; a basement room, The Academy 2, holds 250 for smaller bands, comedy and record launches; and The Chamber is a private room available on request. The Killers played an intimate show here in August 2008, the night before Marlay Park, and Lily Allen, Stereophonics, Buzzcocks, The Cribs and Calvin Harris have all appeared. As It Is are a British-American rock band formed in Brighton, England, in 2012 after founder Patty Walters advertised for musicians to start a pop-punk project.
