As It Is are a British-American rock band formed in Brighton, England, in 2012 after founder Patty Walters advertised for musicians to start a pop-punk project. Blending pop-punk, emo and pop rock with earnest, melodic hooks, they released their debut Never Happy, Ever After in 2015, spawning the singles "Dial Tones" and "Concrete". The follow-up okay. arrived in 2017, before 2018's The Great Depression pushed into darker, more conceptual territory. After I Went to Hell and Back in 2022 the band went on hiatus and split in early 2024, only to reunite later that year with their original lineup. Known for the emotional immediacy of their live sets, they returned with a self-titled reunion album in 2026.
