An independent music venue in the heart of Tufnell Park, London, joined to the Boston Arms pub built on the corner of Dartmouth Park Hill and Junction Road in 1881. It works across two spaces: a 600-capacity room upstairs and a 300-capacity room downstairs, both hosting a wide range of gigs and events. Arkells are named after Arkell Street in the Westdale neighbourhood of Hamilton, where the original five lived and practised near McMaster University — Max Kerman met Mike DeAngelis at a Welcome Week event, the two of them discovering they had identical taste in music.
