A Victorian seafront tea-room turned Brighton institution, where Fatboy Slim held his residency and touring bands squeeze onto its 600-cap floor. Arkells are named after Arkell Street in the Westdale neighbourhood of Hamilton, where the original five lived and practised near McMaster University — Max Kerman met Mike DeAngelis at a Welcome Week event, the two of them discovering they had identical taste in music.
