The Wombats are an English indie-rock band formed in Liverpool in 2003, comprising Matthew Murphy, Tord Øverland Knudsen and Dan Haggis. Their witty, danceable take on post-punk revival broke through with the 2007 debut A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation and its signature song "Let's Dance to Joy Division", which won Best Dancefloor Filler at the 2008 NME Awards. Later singles such as "Greek Tragedy" and "Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)" broadened their reach, and 2022's Fix Yourself, Not the World gave them their first UK number-one album. Across seven studio records they have remained a fixture of the festival circuit, playing Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds and Lollapalooza, and are known live for turning their neurotic pop into euphoric, sing-along sets.
