The Clockworks are an Irish post-punk band formed in Galway, comprising James McGregor on vocals and guitar, Sean Connelly on guitar, Tom Freeman on bass and Damian Greaney on drums. They evolved from acoustic beginnings into a taut, urgent indie post-punk sound built on sharp, observational lyrics. In 2019 the band relocated to London and signed almost immediately to Alan McGee's Creation23 label. They released the debut album Exit Strategy, and are frequently mentioned alongside Ireland's post-punk wave, drawing comparisons to Fontaines D.C. and The Murder Capital while carving out their own cinematic ambition. Regular touring across Ireland, the UK and Europe, including festival appearances, has earned them a reputation for gritty, high-energy live shows.
