Skillet are an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1996, fronted by John Cooper, who plays bass and sings alongside keyboardist Korey Cooper, drummer Jen Ledger and guitarist Seth Morrison. Rooted in Christian rock, their sound folds hard rock, alternative and symphonic and electronic touches into big, driving anthems. The band broke through with Comatose (2006) and Awake (2009), both of which earned Grammy nominations, and singles like 'Monster,' 'Hero' and 'Awake and Alive' went multi-platinum. They have sold more than 12 million units worldwide. Relentless road warriors, Skillet have headlined the Winter Jam tour and toured with the likes of Korn and Papa Roach, and are best known live for a high-energy arena show built on hydraulics, strings and full-throated crowd singalongs.
