Marno van der Merwe

Marno van der Merwe is a South African songwriter, singer and actor who grew up in Rustenburg. He is best known for acting, starring as Brad Jooste in the kykNET musical youth drama series Sterlopers, and has appeared in productions including Pretville, Modder en Bloed (2016) and the Netflix series Ludik. He trained in acting at schools including Stagedoor and A.C.T.S., and has worked extensively in theatre. A self-taught guitarist and drummer, he is also active in Afrikaans music as a songwriter, co-writing songs for Riaan Benadé such as 'Vat 'n Bietjie' and 'Rowwe Bliksem', and has released his own material including 'Uit My Lyf'.
