About
Ma Polaine's Great Decline are an award-winning band whose blend of pop, folk, blues and Americana MOJO Magazine has praised, and whose fifth studio album, Monster Swan, was released in February. It is a return to their grittier, blues side: "Japanese Knotweed" flies that flag most strongly, while "Gasoline Can" and "Told You Lately" hold the most blues about them. Beth's songwriting roots trace back to a childhood in Cornwall singing Brenda Wootton's folk songs before she found Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and Kate Bush in her father's record collection; Clinton grew up in London's jazz and blues scene, catching Muddy Waters as a child and Ronnie Scott's as a teenager. Their 2020 album City of Love won Fatea Magazine's Best Band/Duo award.
