Lusaint was born Lucy Hopkins in Stretford, and started out recording covers while working in a clothing store after university, making CDs and handing them to local restaurants until gigs around Manchester followed. In 2019 a two-year-old cover of En Vogue's Don't Let Go (Love) played for a few seconds on Love Island and was Shazamed 23,000 times in a day — a UK record — putting her top of the Shazam chart. A 2021 cover of Wicked Game has since passed 40 million views. She is signed to Universal Music Publishing Group.
