About
Los Tigres del Norte are a Mexican norteño band based in San Jose, California, founded in the small town of Rosa Morada in the municipality of Mocorito, Sinaloa. Accordion, bass and drums carry songs that swing between the romantic and the political, including the narcocorridos that made them notorious — "Muerte Anunciada", about Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, and "The Queen of the South", drawn from the Arturo Pérez-Reverte novel. Some have faced censorship. They have sold 32 million albums, are the only Mexican group to have won 7 Grammy Awards and 13 Latin Grammys, and have made 40 films alongside the Almada brothers.
