Jazz At Lincoln Center

Jazz at Lincoln Center was founded in 1987 as part of Lincoln Center and opened its own home at what was then the Time Warner Center in October 2004. Wynton Marsalis is its artistic director and leads the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and the halls host both that orchestra and visiting musicians, with many concerts streamed live. The organisation sets out to "represent the totality of jazz music — educationally, curatorially, archivally, and ceremonially", running education programmes in its own buildings, online and in schools across the country, and reaching roughly three million people a year.
