Gstring

GSTRiNG (also styled G-String) is an Afrikaans band from Stellenbosch, South Africa, formed in 2024. The group came together at Stellenbosch University's Helshoogte residence, where founding members Storm Durr-Behrens, Neelsie van Dyk and Wilhelm Warmenhoven met as students. Their name plays on the Afrikaans word for a guitar string ('g-snaar'). They make raw, honest rock with indie and experimental leanings. The band released its debut album, Sonvlug, in November 2024, and singles including 'Kunstenaar', 'Olivia' and 'Kenia'. Their cover of Spoegwolf's 'Lenie Blou' reached number one on Maroela Media's Afrikaans Top 20, and they toured South Africa in 2025.
