Early B, the stage name of Earl Swartz, is one of the most popular figures in Afrikaans hip-hop. Known for fast, witty Afrikaans wordplay and sharply observed, often humorous songs about everyday South African life, he built a large grassroots following that has made him a regular headliner on the festival circuit. His high-energy, charismatic live shows — full of singalong hooks and rapid-fire verses — have helped take Afrikaans rap to mainstream audiences, and he remains one of the genre's biggest and most distinctive live draws.
