Blue October formed in Houston, Texas in 1995 and now consists of singer-guitarist Justin Furstenfeld, his brother Jeremy on drums, multi-instrumentalist Ryan Delahoussaye, bassist Matt Noveskey and lead guitarist Will Knaak. They have put twenty-one singles into the alternative rock top 40 across thirteen studio albums, and are best known for the platinum "Hate Me" and "Into the Ocean", both from the platinum 2006 album Foiled. They have won numerous Houston Press music awards, including Best New Act in 1998 and album of the year for History for Sale in 2003. As of 2026 their songs have been streamed over 1.5 billion times.
