Bleak Squad are an Australian rock supergroup formed in Melbourne, drawing members from several storied bands: Adalita Srsen of Magic Dirt, Mick Harvey of The Birthday Party and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Mick Turner of Dirty Three, and Marty Brown of Art of Fighting. Brown first floated the idea in 2019, and the four jammed and recorded on and off over several years as schedules allowed. Their noir-tinged indie and art rock, built on shared songwriting and alternating lead vocals from Adalita and Harvey, arrived on the debut album Strange Love, released through Poison City Records in August 2025 and trailed by the singles "Lost My Head" and "Strange Love." Adalita coined the name for what she called a loose collection of misfits. The debut was launched with live shows.
