Billy Idol

Billy Idol is an English rock singer born in Stanmore, Middlesex, in 1955, and one of the faces that carried punk energy into the MTV era. He first led Generation X, among the earliest punk acts to appear on Top of the Pops, before launching a solo career that fused pop hooks, punk swagger and dance beats. Snarling anthems such as "White Wedding," "Rebel Yell," "Dancing with Myself" and "Eyes Without a Face" made him a global star, usually alongside guitarist Steve Stevens. A three-time Grammy nominee, he received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2023 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2026. He remains a charismatic, hard-touring live act.
