Dr. Roland Rainer Platz/Eingang Märzpark
The room
Hall D is the main hall of the Wiener Stadthalle, the multi-purpose complex in the 15th district of Vienna designed by the Austrian architect Roland Rainer and built between 1953 and 1958. Completed in 1958, it is Austria's largest indoor arena: 98 by 110 metres with a ridge height of 26.6 metres, laid out for up to 10,741 fixed and removable seats, or up to 16,083 with floor standing and reduced seating. Curtain systems and ground-level stands let the room be divided into parts, and the stage can run to 600 square metres. The Stadthalle stages more than 350 events a year across six interconnecting halls.
