The Concert Hall is a live-music venue inside Toronto's former Masonic Temple at 888 Yonge Street, a 1918 building that began hosting rock shows in the late 1960s and staged the city's first Led Zeppelin concert in 1969. Rebranded The Concert Hall in 2017, its historic upstairs auditorium presents touring bands across rock, jazz and blues.

What time do doors open at The Concert Hall?
Seven o'clock, for almost everything. The venue's own listings put doors at 7:00PM for every show on its autumn 2026 calendar with one exception — Mind Enterprises on 7 October, which opens at 8:00PM. The on-stage time is a separate thing and the venue does not publish it for most shows.
Are shows at The Concert Hall 19+?
Usually. Every show on the venue's own autumn 2026 calendar is marked 19+ apart from two listed as All Ages: Mind Enterprises on 7 October and Sammy Rae & The Friends on 10 November. Check the individual listing before you buy — the age limit is set per show, not by the room.
Is The Concert Hall seated or standing?
Both. The room is described as standing on the main floor, with seated and standing space on the mezzanine and private boxes above it. Which of those your ticket buys depends on the show.
Where exactly is The Concert Hall?
888 Yonge Street, Toronto, M4W 2J2 — the north-west corner of Yonge and Davenport Road, at the top of Yorkville. The room is the auditorium of the city's Masonic Temple, and the building carries the address on its front.
How old is the building, and why is it called the Masonic Temple?
Because that is what it was built as. The contract was signed on 2 November 1916, the cornerstone was laid in November 1917 and the first Lodge meeting was held on New Year's Day 1918; at its peak the Temple housed 38 Masonic bodies. It was added to Toronto's heritage inventory in 1974 and designated under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1997, when a developer wanted the "lucky" 888 address for a tower. It has been branded and operated as The Concert Hall since 2017.
Did Led Zeppelin really play here?
Yes — 2 February 1969, on their first North American tour, when the room was running as The Rock Pile, a sit-on-the-floor concert venue. The hall started taking rock bookings in the late 1960s, and the years around that date brought Muddy Waters, Frank Zappa, The Who, B.B. King and the Grateful Dead through the same doors.
How big is the room?
The venue's own spec sheet gives the concert hall as 71'3" by 77'3", about 5,504 square feet, and does not publish a capacity. Wikipedia lists the capacity as 1,200. Second-hand ticket sites quote figures from 700 upwards, so trust the room's own drawing over those.
Who books the shows at 888 Yonge?
Several promoters share the calendar and the venue credits them on each listing — MODO-LIVE, We Are In The Future, Inertia Entertainment and The Plant all have dates in autumn 2026. Tinariwen's 17 September show, for instance, is presented by MODO-LIVE with I am the Eggplant.
