Mohegan Sun Arena

Mohegan Sun Arena is the 10,000-seat room inside the Mohegan Sun casino resort at Uncasville, in the town of Montville, Connecticut. Built by the Perini Building Company, it opened in October 2001 with 30,000 square feet of configurable exhibition space and a 400-foot clear span, and in January 2003 it was named the official home court of the WNBA's Connecticut Sun. Its programme runs well past basketball — WWE, PBR and Bellator cards, NCAA games and early UFC bouts, the first of them UFC 35 in January 2002 — alongside the headline concerts and touring stand-up comedy the resort advertises. Mohegan Sun's own listing calls it one of the busiest arenas in the United States. The box office sits at the Spring Gateway between the Earth and Sky casinos, although tickets on an event's first day on sale go through Ticketmaster only, and self-parking in the resort's garages is free.
