The room
Meerendal Wine Estate is a family-owned wine estate in Durbanville, about 20 minutes from central Cape Town, with roots dating back to 1702. Alongside its tasting room, restaurants, a boutique hotel and mountain-biking and hiking trails, the estate has open-air event lawns that host large concerts and music festivals. It has staged events such as KFM's K-Day and the Liefde by die Dam festival, and welcomed Afrikaans and rock acts including Fokofpolisiekar, Francois van Coke and Spoegwolf. It is a winelands venue that doubles as an outdoor live-music and event space.
