The Hollywood Palladium is a Streamline Moderne and Art Deco theatre at 6215 Sunset Boulevard in the Hollywood neighbourhood of Los Angeles, built for the Los Angeles Times publisher Norman Chandler and designed by Gordon Kaufmann. It opened on 31 October 1940 with a dance featuring Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra and their band vocalist Frank Sinatra, and from 1961 it was the home of the long-running Lawrence Welk Show. Live Nation has operated, managed and exclusively booked the room under a long-term lease agreed in 2007, reopening it on 15 October 2008 after a year-long renovation, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. The venue's own event pages put the full room at 3,700 for a reception, with the main ballroom at 2,500 and smaller spaces including the Vinyl Room and the Lawrence Welk Lounge.
