The room
Electric is the big standing room in the city centre — the Nelson Street building that ran as SWX from 2015 before its rebrand. Two thousand capacity, a proper club-sized system, and a diet of touring electronic acts, indie headliners and student-heavy club nights. Most shows are 14+ with under-16s accompanied.

What time do gigs finish at Electric Bristol?
Live shows run 7pm to 11pm from Sunday to Thursday, and 6.30pm to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays — the earlier finish at the weekend catches people out. The venue notes all times are subject to change, so the event listing wins if the two disagree.
Do I need ID to get into Electric Bristol?
Yes, whatever your age: no ID, no entry. It accepts a full or provisional driving licence, a valid passport, or a Citizenship Card carrying the PASS hologram and SIA logo. Challenge 25 runs at the bars on top of that, so bring it even if you are only there for the band.
Where is Electric Bristol and how do I get there?
15 Nelson Street, BS1 2JY, in the middle of town near Cabot Circus. Plenty of buses stop directly outside. From Temple Meads it is a five to ten minute taxi, or about twenty minutes on foot.
Is there parking at Electric Bristol?
Not at the venue itself. Electric has partnered with EuroCar Parks on All Saints Street, and booking ahead through the ECP ParkBuddy app with location code 714103 takes 20% off.
Can I take a bag into Electric Bristol?
Anything bigger than a handbag goes in the cloakroom, and so do backpacks, bike helmets and suitcases. It costs £3 an item, and nothing comes back out without the matching ticket — lose it and you wait until the end of the night.
Can I leave Electric Bristol and come back in?
No. There are no pass-outs and no re-admittance, so once you step out that is the end of your night, with no refund. Worth knowing before you head outside for air.
Is Electric Bristol wheelchair accessible?
Partly, and it needs arranging in advance. The building is multistorey and the passenger lift sits at the back inside a staff-only area, so contact the venue before the show to get access to it. One free carer pass per ticket holder is available, booked directly with the venue.
Are there strobe lights at Electric Bristol?
Assume so — the venue says every show contains strobe lighting, smoke and other special effects. If that is a problem, speak to the venue before you arrive or to staff on the night. Earplugs are available at the bar, which is worth knowing given how loud the room runs.
