The largest natural outdoor amphitheatre in the United States, opened in 1922 beneath the Hollywood Hills. Its concentric white shell has hosted The Beatles, the LA Phil and a century of summer nights with picnic baskets and wine. ZZ Top are that little ol' band from Texas — the Houston blues-rock trio formed in 1969 whose Eliminator (1983) welded boogie to synthesizers and MTV iconography.
