Minneapolis's black-and-starred mothership, immortalised in Purple Rain — Prince's home stage and the heart of the Twin Cities scene since 1970. Wavves is the San Diego noise-pop project of Nathan Williams, whose bratty surf anthems King of the Beach and Post Acid became slacker-punk classics.
