Owned and operated by the City of Raleigh, it books acts through an agreement with Live Nation across a season running April through October. Capacity is 5,990, combining 1,800 fixed seats, 2,700 movable seats and lawn space for 1,000. Red Hat secured its naming rights in a 2012 deal. The Turnpike Troubadours are a red-dirt country band from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, formed in 2005, blending country, folk and Americana on fan-favourite albums such as Diamonds & Gasoline and Goodbye Normal Street.
