A 2,500-capacity room on Eglinton Street in Laurieston, on the south side of the Clyde. Since the O2 ABC burned in 2018 it has carried Glasgow's mid-size touring load largely on its own. Transvision Vamp were formed in Putney in 1986 by guitarist and primary songwriter Nick Christian Sayer and lead singer Wendy James, and spent the late 1980s as one of the loudest pop-rock propositions going — ten hits on the UK singles charts and considerable success in Australia, with James attracting media attention for a sexually charged, rebellious image.
