Òran Mór is a theatre, restaurant and music venue in Glasgow, at the junction of Great Western Road and Byres Road. The building was founded as the Kelvinside Free Church and served as the Kelvinside Parish Church (Botanic Gardens) from 1862 until 1978, when it became redundant. It was deconsecrated and converted into an entertainment venue in 2004, and Alasdair Gray's murals were painted on the auditorium ceiling during that conversion. The Rifles are an indie-rock band formed in Chingford, East London, in 2004, drawing on The Jam, The Clash and Britpop across UK-charting albums such as No Love Lost and Great Escape.
