York's indoor entertainment hub at the southern edge of the city centre, opposite the medieval walls and named for the nearby barbican at Walmgate Bar. It seats 1,500 or holds 1,900 standing and keeps a busy diary of live music, comedy, sport and conferences. Best known outside music circles as the long-running home of snooker's UK Championship. The Amy Winehouse Band is led by Dale Davis, Winehouse's long-time musical director and bassist, and brings back the original members of her band to perform her work in her honour: guitarist Hawi Gondwe, drummer Nathen Allen, Henry Collins on trumpet and Ade Omotayo on additional vocals.
