The Aldwych is a West End theatre in Aldwych, in the City of Westminster, built as a pair with the Waldorf — now the Novello — to a design by W. G. R. Sprague in the Edwardian Baroque style. It opened on 23 December 1905 and seats 1,200 on three levels; the building was listed Grade II in 1971. From 1923 to 1933 it staged the twelve Aldwych farces, and from 1960 until the move to the Barbican in 1982 it was the Royal Shakespeare Company's London base. Long runs since have included Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and Tina: The Tina Turner Musical. Sinatra: The Musical is a biographical jukebox musical written by Joe DiPietro, built on the life and the music of Frank Sinatra.
