A 2,676-seat concert hall at 600 Penn Avenue in the Cultural District of Pittsburgh, home to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra, and presenting around 200 performances a year. It was built in 1926–27 as Loew's Penn Theatre, a movie palace designed by Rapp & Rapp with a 50-foot vaulted Venetian ceiling in the Grand Lobby. It closed in 1964 and was due for demolition before being bought and renovated between 1967 and 1971, reopening as Heinz Hall. Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is a classical act.
