Upstairs is one of the three live rooms at Whelan's, the Wexford Street pub and music venue in Dublin's city centre, which runs gigs seven nights a week and has been doing so for over thirty years. The other two are the main venue and Little Whelan's, which is kept for intimate shows; the building also holds a bar and a private function room, the Parlour. Pat Hamilton is a young singer-songwriter who has opened the BBC Introducing stage at TRNSMT and passed a million streams on his debut album To Whom It May Concern.
