A 1928 movie palace at Flatbush and DeKalb that put on jazz, blues and early rock and roll, closed in 1962, and spent the next six decades as Long Island University's basketball court. Restoration began in 2017 and it reopened as a venue in 2024. Palace are a British alternative rock band from London, formed on 15 September 2012 as a four-piece around Leo Wyndham, Rupert Turner, Will Dorey and Matt Hodges.
