Blue Note was founded in New York City in 1981 and originally established in Greenwich Village; 131 West 3rd Street remains the flagship of what has since become an international chain of jazz clubs and restaurants with venues across North and South America, Europe and Asia. Omar Sosa is a Cuban jazz pianist and composer, born in 1965 in Camagüey, who fuses Afro-Cuban rhythms with jazz, electronics and world music on a discography that has drawn multiple Grammy nominations.
