A 1,500-seat theater in the Central Business District of New Orleans, also known as the RKO Orpheum. Designed by G. Albert Lansburgh and built in 1918, it opened for vaudeville in 1921 in a Beaux Arts, acoustically tuned "vertical hall" design. Saved from demolition in 1983, it is now home to the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. New Orleans Ballet Theatre is a dance act.
