Jannus Live is an open-air music venue of around 2,000 capacity set in a historic downtown courtyard in St. Petersburg, Florida. Opened in 1984 as Jannus Landing and named after aviation pioneer Tony Jannus, it is one of the busiest concert spaces in the Tampa Bay area. Michael Franti, born on 21 April 1966, is an American singer, songwriter, musician, poet, activist, documentarian and rapper, known for musical projects carrying a political and social emphasis — among them the Beatnigs and the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy.
