A historic theater at 1215 U Street in Washington, D.C., next to Ben's Chili Bowl on what was known as Washington's Black Broadway. It served the city's African American community during segregation, pairing a movie house and ballroom that hosted jazz and big-band greats such as Duke Ellington. Closed after the 1968 riots, it was restored and reopened in 1994 for a broad program of performances and events. Men at Work are an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in 1979 around frontman Colin Hay, who had been playing as an acoustic duo with Ron Strykert.
