A boutique hotel and cultural venue on Queen Street West, in Toronto's West Queen West area near Parkdale. It opened in 1890 as Small's Hotel and was renamed the Drake in 1949, then declined into a flophouse in the 1970s and served as a punk bar and a rave den in the decades after. Jeff Stober bought it in October 2001 for CA$860,000, intending a Toronto answer to the Hotel Chelsea, and it reopened in February 2004 after CA$6 million of renovations. Alongside the rooms it holds restaurants, bars, the Sky Yard rooftop patio and the Drake Underground performance venue. Maryjo is a pop act.
