A historic Minneapolis theatre on Hennepin Avenue, one of four restored houses in the Hennepin Theatre District. Opened in 1921 and seating 2,181, it was hailed as the most advanced and elaborate theatre in the country, designed by Chicago architect J.E.O. Pridmore in a free Italian Renaissance style with the city's first air conditioning, a glass stage floor and, from 1925, a Wurlitzer pipe organ. Lyle Lovett is a four-time Grammy-winning Texas songwriter whose Large Band shows blend country, swing, gospel and wit like nobody else in American music.
