A lavish performing-arts palace at 2211 Woodward Avenue in Downtown Detroit, opened in 1928 as a flagship of the Fox Theatres chain and designed by architect C. Howard Crane. With 5,048 seats it is the largest surviving 1920s movie palace, a National Historic Landmark that lends its name to the surrounding Foxtown district and now hosts major concerts and shows. Lily Allen is the London pop provocateur whose ska-flecked Smile and Alright, Still made her the voice of 2000s British pop; her 2025 comeback West End Girl drew wide acclaim.
