A 1936 National Guard armory in downtown Minneapolis, built by the Public Works Administration and on the National Register of Historic Places. It housed the Minneapolis Lakers before the NBA left town, sat through decades of other uses, and is now one of the city's biggest and most striking rooms. LCD Soundsystem are James Murphy's New York dance-punk institution, whose Sound of Silver and anthems like All My Friends defined 2000s indie dance.
