The University of Liverpool's students' union, founded in 1889 with its building raised in 1911. A £14.25m refurbishment in 2013 added a cinema, theatre, four bars, dance studios and an underground nightclub, plus a 2,300-capacity gig venue at its heart. The Guild regularly stages live music, theatre and comedy. Kneecap are an Irish hip-hop trio from Belfast — Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí — who rap in a mixture of Irish and English.
