The Paradise Rock Club is a 933-capacity general-admission music venue on Commonwealth Avenue beside Boston University, opened in 1977 as the Paradise Theater. One of Boston's storied small rooms and operated by Crossroads Presents, it has hosted early US shows by the likes of U2 and Phish. Kim Gordon is an American musician and visual artist best known as the co-founder, bassist and vocalist of the influential alternative rock band Sonic Youth.

933 — small enough that the stage feels close from just about anywhere in the room. It has sat on the edge of Boston University's campus since 22 September 1977, when it opened as the Paradise Theater. Phish's first big Boston show sold it out in January 1989, leaving a couple of hundred people on the pavement outside.
