A monumental landmark in San Francisco's Marina District, originally built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition and the only structure from it still standing on site. Conceived to evoke a decaying Roman ruin, its 162-foot open rotunda and lagoon are among the city's most recognisable sights; the adjoining exhibition centre now hosts events and performances. Kathy Griffin is a comedy act.
