The Santa Barbara Bowl is a 4,562-seat outdoor amphitheatre in Santa Barbara, California, booked by Goldenvoice and run since 1991 by a not-for-profit foundation. Open roughly April to October, it stages about two dozen popular-music concerts each season in a hillside setting. Johnny Blue Skies is the alter ego of Sturgill Simpson, the American country music singer-songwriter whose work has drawn frequent comparisons to outlaw country.
