A lavish performing-arts palace at 2211 Woodward Avenue in Downtown Detroit, opened in 1928 as a flagship of the Fox Theatres chain and designed by architect C. Howard Crane. With 5,048 seats it is the largest surviving 1920s movie palace, a National Historic Landmark that lends its name to the surrounding Foxtown district and now hosts major concerts and shows. Jill Scott is an American singer-songwriter, poet and actress, and one of the defining voices of neo-soul.
