A 1928 movie palace at Flatbush and DeKalb that put on jazz, blues and early rock and roll, closed in 1962, and spent the next six decades as Long Island University's basketball court. Restoration began in 2017 and it reopened as a venue in 2024. Jack White is the Detroit garage-rock auteur who led The White Stripes to Seven Nation Army immortality, founded Third Man Records and keeps reinventing the guitar across solo albums.
