A 1913 working men's club in Hyde Park, Leeds, reborn as one of Britain's best-loved independent venues. Still a social enterprise with its community-club soul intact, its two 400-cap rooms host everyone from cult heroes to arena acts playing secret shows. Ibibio Sound Machine are a London-based band led by British-Nigerian singer Eno Williams, fusing West African funk, disco and electronica — with lyrics sung partly in the Ibibio language of southern Nigeria.
